The solution plotted is from Yang and Liu (2002) from their Table 5 listed under “Dark 1.” However, it would appear that there is some confusion as regards the placement of the spots. The parameters given under “Dark 1” were supposed to refer to a cool spot on star 1, i.e., the smaller, less massive star by their definition (the star eclipsed at zero phase). However, it seems that the spot parameters given under the heading “Dark 1” actually refer to star 2, the more massive and cooler star in this W-type overcontact system. When the spot under heading “Dark 1” is placed on star 2, the fit is excellent, as given in the article.
